About Kaan

Kaan Özyurt is a qualified urban planner with a diverse background spanning local government, private consulting, and development management giving him a unique perspective that balances compliance, strategy and commercial reality.

Kaan has worked within local councils across both Statutory and Strategic Planning, giving him first-hand insight into how decisions are made, what matters to assessing planners, and how to position applications for the best chance of approval.

His private sector experience ranges from boutique firms to multidisciplinary environments, working on:

• Multi-unit and apartment developments

• Multi-lot subdivisions and greenfield development

• Townhouse and infill housing

• Commercial and industrial projects

• Materials recycling facilities & waste transfer stations

• Complex change-of-use applications

• Sensitive or high-impact proposals requiring multi-disciplinary coordination

Kaan has also worked as a Development Manager, further strengthening his commercial awareness and giving him a deep understanding of project feasibility, staging, cost drivers, risk management and stakeholder expectations.
